More info

It can be applied with a continuous and non-continuous mortar spraying machine. It may also be applied manually.
The following finishes are accepted:
- RANGE OF MORCEMCRIL
- MORCEMDUR ITE

Composition

Product based on white cement, aerial lime, calcareous aggregates, natural fibers, additives and redispersable resins.

Features and applications

  • Multi-purpose: adhesive mortar for insulation boards and also as a reinforced protecting render.
  • Optimal adherence and excellent cohesion.
  • Excellent workability.
  • Vey low water permeability in liquid phase.
  • Optimal permeability to water vapour.
  • Excellent resistance to aging even if subjected to heat cycles as a finishing coat for system.

Substrates

  • Only to be used on the following vertical substrates:

- Masonry walls built from all types of small elements ceramic bricks, Monomur, normal or light weight concrete block (cellular concrete).

- Reinforced concrete after conditioning.

- Renders, cement-based mortars and one coat mortars in good condition.

- Expanded polystyrene.

  • The mortar, and the complete system cannot be applied to uncovered walls inclined more than 10º.
  • Substrates must be clean, sound, stable and damp but not soaked with water. They must have sufficient mechanical resistance and they must be free from any product that could impede bonding, such as plaster, demoulding agents and paint.
  • Any deviation of flatness above 1 cm (measured with a 2 m rule) must be repaired at least 24 before application with one of the mortars accepted as a substrate for the system.

Instructions for use

Previously prepare the substrate, apply the primer IMPLAFIX or TEXTUREFIX PLUS to the low-absorbent surfaces (concrete) and fix the base profile.

Mixing with manual mixer:

Mix the mortar with 5 to 5.5 litres of clean water per bag until a until an homogeneous paste free of lumps is obtained. Leave to rest for 5 minutes and lightly mix.

Mixing with mechanical mixing and spraying machine:

  • Continuous: Start with a high volume of water to facilitate the first stage in the pump and progressively reduce the amount until the desired consistency for the work has been obtained. Maintain this consistency.
  • Discontinuous mixing: Fill the mixer with sufficient water for the total bags to be mixed (5 to 5.5 litres per bags), add the contents of the bags progressively. Once mixed, leave the mixture for 5 minutes until a uniform paste has been obtained, without lumps and of the appropriate consistency. It is preferable to add a less quantity of water at the beginning of the process and add the rest of water after all the bags of product has been introduced to abtain a precise consistency.

Use as an adhesive mortar for the boards. With a notched trowel (for smooth substrates):

  1. Spread the mortar over the surface of the board.
  2. Adjust the thickness with a notched trowel in a 20 mm half moon shape.
  3. Remove the mortar at least 2 cm from the edge of the board to avoid filling the joint between boards with the mortar.

With the «roll» method:

  1. Spread the mortar by rolling with sufficient thickness parallel to the perimeter of the board and 2 cm from the edge. Leave openings. Do not form a closed rectangle with the mortar to eliminate air behind the board bonded to the wall.
  2. Inside the rectangle, place plots of mortar of 10-15 cm in diameter and similar thickness to the rolled product.

With the «plot» method:

  • Apply at least eight plots of 10-20 cm in diameter, evenly spaced along the two longest edges of the board, more than 2 cm from the edge.

Bonding the boards:

Once the TRADITERM has been applied to the back of the board following one of the methods described above, and before the surface of the mortar losses its adhesive capacity, apply the board to the substrate in the chosen place and press slightly by hand and then with more intensity with a trowel to leave the edges of the board at the same level as the boards and surrounding profiles.

Use as render of the boards:

At least 24 hours after bonding and fixing, in the case of fixing with mechanical fasteners (finish with MORCEMDUR ITE), position the angle angle beads and eliminaté any differences and excess of thicknesses between the plates through sanding.

Spread TRADITERM SPRAYABLE manually with a trowel, or mechanically on the boards and regulate the thickness with a 10 mm square notched trowel. Over this levelled off layer unfold vertically and apply the bands of TRADITERM MESH overlapping them by at least 10 cm and also with the reinforcement mesh of angle beads.

Over this reinforced layer, while still fresh, also incorporate the reinforcement bands (at 45 degrees) at the door and window angles, and other weak points. When the mortar has started setting and set once, in any case, fresh on fresh, spread a new coat of TRADITERM SPRAYABLE until a total minimum thickness of 4 mm has been obtained and leave it smooth but not floated for a RPE finish (MORCEMCRIL), or combed 6 mm notched trowel, slightly sloping leaving the grooves horizontal if the finish used is MORCEMDUR ITE.

Cautions and recommendations

  • Do not apply the product without prior protection measures at temperatures lower than 5 ºC or higher than 30 ºC, exposed to direct sunlight or strong wind.
  • Do not apply if heavy rain or temperatures lower than 0 ºC are forecast in the following 24 hours.
  • It is prohibited to use the product on horizontal or inclined surfaces of more than 10º outside and uncovered.
  • Respect buildings' structural joints.
  • Protect the upper part of the system as soon as possible to prevent rain from entering.

Packaging
